Read a routing: models, roadbook and planned / actual
Compare the routes of the weather models, replay the routing on the map, read the roadbook (heading, wind, sails, waves), export to GPX or CSV and compare with the actual track of a session.
The essentials
A finished routing shows one route per weather model, a time cursor and three tabs.
- Models tab: arrival, duration and gap of each model; the fastest one has the Fastest badge. Click a row to bring that model forward.
- The cursor at the bottom of the map (or ▶) moves the boat along the route: wind, angle, speed and sails are displayed.
- Roadbook tab: one row per calculation step; click a row to move the cursor there.
- Summary tab: arrival, distance, wind, waves, manoeuvres, time per sail configuration and warnings.

Going further
The roadbook
Each row gives the time, the Heading, the Wind (speed and direction), the TWA (Stb = starboard, Port), the speed through water (STW) and over ground (SOG), the Current, the Sea (height, period and speed loss), the Sails suggested by the sailmap and the Events: tacks, gybes, sail changes, engine, marks rounded.

Several models
Where the routes of the models overlap the forecast is reliable; where they spread apart, uncertainty is high. Show the routes of the other models hides them to keep only the chosen model.
Map layers
Seamarks (OpenSeaMap buoys and lights), Bathymetry (EMODnet depths) and Isochrones (fronts reached at each step). At each step of the route, the Wind (barb), Current (blue arrow) and Waves (green arrow) boxes each show or hide their symbol; hover a symbol to read the strength and the angle to the route.
Weather on the map
The Weather panel, on the right of the map, shows the Wind (colours and animated particles), Gusts, Waves or Currents over the whole map, at the time of the cursor: the map changes when you move the cursor or press play. Wind, gusts and waves come from the run of the model chosen in the Models tab; the legend gives the model and the run. Hover over the map to read the value at a point (wind speed and direction, wave height, period and direction, current speed and set). These layers exist for the preloaded models and area (Europe, North Atlantic, Mediterranean).

Export
Export offers GPX (plotter) for a GPS or chartplotter, CSV (roadbook) for a spreadsheet, and Print / PDF for a paper roadbook.
Planned / actual
After sailing, choose a session of the boat in Planned / actual: the actual track is drawn in black on the map, with the time at each mark, the gap with the plan and the mean distance to the route.
Run again
Run again redoes the routing with the same settings and the latest weather runs (a past departure becomes now).
Frequently asked questions
How long are routings kept?
Routings stay in My routings. After 5 days, isochrones and weather data are removed; the route, the roadbook and the summary are kept.
Why did a model fail?
The message gives the reason: model horizon reached before the finish, no possible route (land, depth or no-go zones), wind or waves beyond the limits. The other models remain usable.
