Your data: retention, privacy and deletion

BeginnerUpdated

What Avelsta keeps (raw logs, sessions, polars), who can see it, for how long, and how to delete a session, a boat, the trial without an account or your whole account.

The essentials

Your logs, sessions, boats and polars are visible to you only.

I want to delete… Where Effect
A session Session ⋯ menu, Delete The session disappears; its period is locked
A boat Boat sheet, Specifications, Delete this boat… Boat, sessions, polars, imports and log files deleted
The trial without an account Trial banner, Delete everything Logs, raw files and trial sessions deleted right away
My account Profile & account, Delete my account Everything is deleted, permanently

Going further

What is kept

  • The raw log files, as uploaded, downloadable from each session’s Source tab.
  • The extracted data: measurement points, the boat’s timeline, sessions and their statistics.
  • Your polars, sails, sailmaps, segments, checkpoints and notes.

Nothing is shared with other users. The example session is the only session visible to everyone, read-only.

Without an account

The trial is tied to your browser and deleted after 6 hours, raw files included. When you create an account from the trial, your trial data moves to the account.

Deleting your account

In Profile & account, Data section, Delete my account: type your email to confirm. Boats, sessions, polars, imports and raw log files are deleted permanently and irreversibly; there is no backup.

Exporting your data

Exporting all your data from the profile is coming soon. Meanwhile, each session can be exported as GPX and each original log file downloaded from the session: see Export, download, delete.

Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure, portability: write to contact@avelsta.app. Details are in the terms of use.
