Getting started

Explore the example session

BeginnerUpdated

Discover Avelsta without your own logs with a real 23-hour example session, read-only, compared with its boat’s polar.

The essentials

Avelsta offers a real example session: 23 hours and more than 110 nautical miles on a Mini 905, with its polar. Use it to try the replay, the timeline and the polar before importing your own files.

  1. Without an account: on Polar Generator or Replay, click Explore an example session.
  2. With an account that has no session yet: on the home screen, click Explore an example session →.
  3. The session opens read-only (“Example” in the replay’s Session list): start the replay, hover over the curves, change the measures.
  4. To go back to your data: Remove the example in the ⚙ panel (without an account), or Import my logs (with an account).

Going further

What you can try with the example

Everything you can read: the map and the track, the timeline (boat speed, true wind, angle, VMG, polar %, heel…), the replay at different speeds, the boat’s polar and the statistics. You can also add excluded ranges, segments and checkpoints: they stay in the tab and are never saved.

Polar generated from the example

Without an account, the Polar view computes a polar from the sessions shown, example included: click Generate automatically. It is a good way to see how Avelsta goes from measured points to a complete polar. See Free polar generator.

The example and your account

The example session is never copied to your account, even if you create one while the example is shown.
